Dear Colleagues and Friends,
We are happy to announce the 30th International Congress of Clinical Neurophysiology (ICCN) of the International Federation of Clinical Neurophysiology (IFCN). The ICCN2014 will take place in Berlin from March 20–23, 2014 and will be organized in conjunction with the Annual Meeting of the German Society for Clinical Neurophysiology and Functional Imaging (DGKN) scheduled from March 19–22, 2014.
In recent years, clinical neurophysiology and functional brain imaging have evolved as hot spots of scientific research on the function of the nervous system. We have gathered together leading scientists contributing to the congress on topics such as consciousness, sleep, cognition, epilepsy, aging plasticity, deep brain stimulation, non-invasive brain stimulation, pain as well as many other topics. Recent advances in measurement and imaging systems have opened up new possibilities for the investigation of fundamental functions of the human brain and peripheral nervous system.
For the first time, we have also compiled a highly competitive teaching program. This gives the opportunity to learn from world-leading experts in their field. The teaching courses comprehensively cover topics dealing with different techniques such as ultrasound, especially high resolution ultrasound and MRI of muscle, nerve and brain. ICCN2014 shall also show how these methods are embedded in the clinical context, studying neuromuscular disorders, epilepsy, sleep, pain, cognitive and central movement disorders, brain plasticity in stroke, neurodegeneration and neuroinflammation and others.
We invite scientists from all over the world to present their latest research. The oral as well as the poster sessions will have a central place in the meeting and will receive great attention. We invite both, experienced as well as young scientists, to present their work and participate in vigorous discussions.
More than ten attractive awards will be granted for outstanding free abstract contributions. Additionally the IFCN will also offer a significant number of fellowships for selected presenting participants.
The ICCN registration fee will provide a special arrangement for students and young scientists.
The vibrant city of Berlin is an ideal venue in the heart of Europe and can easily be reached by airplane, train and car. Berlin is the capital of Germany and harbors many famous museums and galleries as well as concert halls, theaters, restaurants and pubs, and is the traditional link between the East- and West-European cultures.
The congress venue, the Estrel Hotel, has hosted many large international meetings and is situated close to the center of Berlin. It offers sufficient space for plenaries, symposia, workshops, seminars and courses. Accommodation is available at the Estrel and many other hotels in the surroundings and the city center in all categories.
We cordially invite you all to attend the ICCN2014 and look forward to meeting you in Berlin in March 2014.
